12月13日至15日,我校 “白鹭未来”未来之城俱乐部的队员们前往北京参加未来之城®(Future City)全国展评。同学们设计的海上漂浮城市Floatopia大胆创新,角色扮演的展示方式引人入胜,答辩有理有据,最终荣获全国二等奖

From December 13th to 15th, the students of Future City Club traveled to Beijing to participate in the national exhibition and evaluation of Future City® and ultimately won the second prize!




杭州上海世外中学的未来之城俱乐部自成立四年多以来,学生们在探索中不断创新,成为具有批判性思维和探究精神的终身学习者,逐步实现他们的科技梦,创新梦!

Since its establishment over four years ago, the Future City Club has continuously fostered innovation among students through exploration. The students have become lifelong learners equipped with critical thinking and a spirit of inquiry.

白鹭未来”未来之城俱乐部是我校STEAM课程的代表,而学校为STEAM课程打造的科创教室无疑是对同学们进行创新创造最大的支持。我校的科创教室配备了智能3D打印机,激光切割机,微型锯床,缝纫机等,各类工具一应俱全。全面且先进的教学设备为学生们创造了真实的探究环境,提供了学习的支架,引导他们在主动探索和合作中获得知识。这样一个有特色的教室激发同学和老师们的探究欲和创造力。

The Future City Club serves as a flagship of our school's STEAM curriculum. Our school is equipped with intelligent 3D printers, laser cutters, mini saw benches, sewing machines, and other comprehensive and advanced teaching facilities. These create a genuine inquiry-based learning environment for students, provide scaffolding for their learning, and guide them to acquire knowledge through active exploration and collaboration.

在本次未来之城全国赛中,我们来到了北京,此次的比赛让我收获颇多,其中也不乏新的感想。在本次的比赛中,我们遇到了比我们的设计更精细的小组,也遇到了比我们更加能言善辩的小组,他们的优秀作品深刻的让我理解了什么叫人外有人,天外有天;也让我深刻的意识到了自身与团队与其他人之间的不足,相信我们以后会做的更好。

We encountered groups with even more refined designs than ours and groups that were more articulate. Their outstanding projects deeply impressed upon me the meaning of 'there's always someone better out there.' I believe we will do much better in the future.

在这次比赛中,我参观了其他组别的模型,每个模型都有别具一格的特点。在此次比赛中学会了欣赏他人的模型,看到别人模型的优点,总结我们组模型的不足之处。在整个项目过程中,我学会了如何和组员良好的配合,沟通。更重要的是我的社交方面也有所提升,在比赛中我与其他参赛选手一起讨论模型,他们的观点都为我们的演讲和答辩做出了巨大的贡献。这次比赛可以说是提升自我的一次机会。

In this competition, I learned to appreciate others' models and identify the areas where our group's model could be improved. My social skills also improved as I learned how to collaborate and communicate effectively with my team members. Everyone in the group contributed their perspectives, which were crucial in shaping our presentation and responses during the Q&A session. This experience was undoubtedly an opportunity for self-improvement.

在准备比赛时,我们感到压力很大,因为从区域赛到全国赛只有从19天,而且论文只有7天的准备时间。但是当我们真正到了比赛现场时,还是比较放松的,能够状态较好地展现我们的演讲稿。比赛时我们的状态也很好,就连我们的带队老师Rich都觉得我们做的非常好。最终荣获全国二等奖。

While preparing for the competition, we experienced significant stress because of the very tight timeline. Yet, upon arriving at the competition site, we managed to stay fairly calm and delivered our presentation in good form. In the end, this effort earned us a national second prize.



未来之城的比赛就此告一段落了,但在同学们心间,对未来的向往与筹谋才刚刚启航。同学们会在日积月累中厚积薄发,成长为理想中的模样,登上人生的广阔舞台,书写璀璨夺目的华丽篇章。杭州世外中学也会持续推进探索实践,借助未来之城®项目与 PBL 课程,全方位提升学生的核心素养,切实贴合学生的发展需要,为培育心怀中国、放眼世界的全球公民全力以赴!
